Don't Leave Money on the Table — Free Tax Prep Is Available Now for Pickens County Families

Tax season doesn't have to cost you anything. United Way of Pickens County offers free tax preparation services to help our neighbors keep every dollar they've earned — and this year, there are two easy ways to get it done.

Free In-Person Help with a VITA Appointment

Sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program connects Pickens County individuals and families earning $69,000 or less annually with IRS-trained and certified volunteers who will work with you to find every deduction and credit you qualify for.

Appointments are required. Schedule yours today:

Online: eznetscheduler.com
By phone: Dial 211 (or 1-866-892-9211)

Here's how it works: When you arrive, you'll complete a brief intake form and share your documents with a certified volunteer tax preparer. Once your return is complete, a second certified volunteer reviews it for accuracy, then walks through everything with you before it's filed. With direct deposit and electronic filing, most refunds arrive within 7–21 days.
