About Us

United Way is about advancing the common good by creating opportunities for a better life for all.

We are an independently-governed 501(c)3 nonprofit organization connected to a network of more than 1,300 local United Ways through United Way Worldwide. We have our own board of directors and focus on finding local solutions in Pickens County.

Our strategic approach to community problem solving concentrates on collaboration and results. We achieve results through providing services through programs such as VITA (tax assistance) and Money Smart classes, while also supporting programming provided by our trusted community partners.

Our focus is on EDUCATION, FINANCIAL STABILITY and COMMUNITY BASIC SERVICES, because these are the building blocks for a good quality of life.

We recruit the people and organizations from all across the community who bring the passion, expertise and resources needed to get things done. We invite you to be a part of the change. You can GIVE, you can ADVOCATE and you can VOLUNTEER. That’s what it means to LIVE UNITED.
