Women United

Women meeting at a conference table

Women United is an unstoppable network of women committed to improving the lives of children in Pickens County.

Through Women United, you will build connections with like-minded women, deepen your knowledge of community issues, and support children and early literacy through programs such as Preschool Pages.

Women United's signature program, Preschool Pages, is a partnership with local elementary schools to support the development of early literacy skills in preschoolers in the community. Young children and their caregivers participate in story time and related crafts and activities which helps these young learners develop important early literacy skills while learning that school is a safe and nurturing place. You can support children by donating books or funds for books, ensuring that each child can take a book home from the program to build their home library.

The annual Women United Luncheon for Literacy brings together women from across the community to enjoy an inspirational keynote speaker, network with like-minded women, and support early literacy in Pickens County.

This year's event was held virtually on Thursday, March 25 at 12 noon and featured nationally acclaimed network news anchor and correspondent Jane Robelot as the keynote speaker and raised nearly $10,000 to support Preschool Pages programs for the 2021-2022 school year.
