Women United is an unstoppable network of powerful women committed to improving the lives of children in Pickens County.
 
Through Women United, you will build connections with like-minded women, deepen your knowledge of community issues, and support children and early literacy through programs such as Preschool Pages and Camp iRock.

Preschool Pages

Women United Preschool Pages is an initiative supporting the development of early literacy skills in preschoolers in Pickens County. A partnership with Central Academy of the Arts, Chastain Road Elementary, and McKissick Academy of Science and Technology, Women United provides books, materials and volunteer time to support the early literacy programs being offered at the partner schools. Camp iRock
 
Women United supports Camp iRock, an innovative summer program for struggling readers in rising 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades. A partnership between United Way of Pickens County, the School District of Pickens County, and the YMCA of Easley, Pickens and Powdersville, Camp iRock combines intensive, high quality reading instruction with a traditional summer camp environment- leading to phenomenal results. Luncheon for Literacy

The annual Women United Luncheon for Literacy brings together women from across the community to enjoy an inspirational keynote speaker, network with like-minded women, and learn about the early literacy work that Women United members are doing across Pickens County. The 2020 Luncheon for Liteacy will be held Thursday, March 19, 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Tri-County Technical College in Easley and will feature keynote speaker Jane Robelot of WYFF.  Tickets are $25 each and will go on sale February 3. Table and event sponsorship opportunities will also be available.
