United Way of Pickens County Honored as 2021 Pillar of Easley

November 15, 2021

Presented by the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce, the Pillar of Easley Award recognizes and honors a long-standing business that plays an active role in our community and is highly respected as an important contributor in making our community strong, vibrant and successful.

On November 12, the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce was pleased to honor United Way of Pickens County as its 2012 Pillar of Easley recipient. United Way of Pickens County serves with the mission to mobilize the caring power of Pickens County to improve communities and individual lives in measurable and lasting ways. We know them as fundraisers, innovators, collaborators, and connectors. Their work helps overcome hunger, homelessness, illiteracy, lack of transportation, and financial instability. For many individuals and families, this help has been a lifeline and path to an improved quality of life.

In 2020 during the COVID challenge, United Way of Pickens County stepped up to mobilize resources and partners to create an emergency assistance fund to meet unexpected needs resulting from illness or loss of a job and income for many Pickens County residents.

United Way of Pickens County also values the importance and benefit of community collaborations, which is seen through their partnerships with other organizations such as the School District of Pickens County, YMCA, FamilyWize and AmeriCorps. By working with others, United Way is able to leverage resources for greater impact and outcomes.

For over 70 years, our local United Way has challenged and inspired us to live united and work together to create positive change for Pickens County. And their work ensures the best outcomes for Pickens County, which in turn strengthens the very foundation of our community.

Please join the Easley Chamber of Commerce in honoring our 2021 Pillar of Easley, United Way of Pickens County.
