- Road closures / travel guidance you can’t confirm (specific roads, bridges, detours)
- Warming center / shelter status questions (hours, location, rules, accessibility) when the dashboard isn’t clear
- Reporting storm impacts that aren’t life-threatening (downed trees blocking a road, traffic lights out, debris hazards)
- Safety questions tied to local operations (curfews, boil water notices if issued, local updates)
- Where to direct a situation (e.g., “Who handles a downed tree on a county road vs. a power line?”)
- Non emergent travel requests to a shelter
Call 211 when you need help finding non-emergency services or support. Simply dial 211 (or 1-866-892-9211) to get connected with an operator, or text “HELP” to 211-211 to get started. Call 911 if there is immediate danger to life, fire, medical emergency, or if someone is trapped or injured.
