Every dollar to Camp iRock is DOUBLED until March 15th. Help a child in Pickens County learn to read. Your gift goes twice as far.

United Way of Pickens County has teamed up with Scott Hughes and Champions for Literacy to launch the #Fight4Literacy challenge, and every dollar donated to Camp iRock between now and March 15th will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $10,000.

That means your $25 gift becomes $50. Your $100 becomes $200. It’s one of the most powerful opportunities we’ve ever had to help children in Pickens County learn to read.

Why Camp iRock Matters

Right now, there are children in classrooms across Pickens County who are falling behind in reading. If they don’t read at grade level by the end of 3rd grade, most of what they learn from 4th grade on will go right over their heads. Third grade is the turning point — and too many kids are running out of time.

Camp iRock, United Way of Pickens County’s intensive summer reading intervention program, catches those children before that window closes. Since 2015, the program has helped more than 3,400 students, and the children who went through the program early on are now graduating high school at rates between 92–95%.

How You Can Help

Thanks to the generosity of Scott Hughes and Champions for Literacy, your gift to Camp iRock will go twice as far. But the match has a deadline: all gifts must be received by March 15th.

Any amount makes a difference. And right now, any amount is doubled.

Give today at uwpickens.org/double, or mail your check to United Way of Pickens County, PO Box 96, Easley, SC 29641.

Every dollar matched. Every child counts.
