United Way of Pickens County is preparing for another impactful tax season, and we’re calling on community members to step up and make a difference.
Each year, a dedicated team of trained volunteers provides free tax preparation services to individuals and families across Pickens County—many of whom earn an average income of just $24,000. Last tax season alone, nearly 60 volunteers helped file more than 2,200 tax returns, putting critical refunds directly into the hands of those who need it most.
Now, as we gear up for the 2025 season, we’re looking for new volunteers to join this life-changing initiative.
No experience is needed—just a willingness to learn and a heart for service.
Volunteers receive free IRS-certified training and can choose from multiple convenient locations, including Pickens County Library branches, Clemson University, and local businesses. Schedules are flexible, with weekday, evening, and weekend shifts available.
Whether you're a college student, a working professional, or a retiree, this is a unique opportunity to serve your community, gain valuable skills, and help return hard-earned money to local households.
