Your gift to United Way of Pickens County makes a difference in the lives of hardworking families and struggling children in our community by ensuring that students can read on grade level by 3rd grade, and that your neighbors develop a pathway out of poverty.

There are multiple ways that you can give to United Way. As with any decision involving your assets, we urge you to seek the advice of your professional counsel when considering a gift to United Way of Pickens County.

CREDIT CARD GIFTS

MAKE A STOCK GIFT

GIVE FROM  YOUR  IRA

If you are age 72 or older, the IRS requires you to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) each year from your tax-deferred retirement account. Did you know that you can donate all, or a portion of your RMD directly to United Way of Pickens County or another charity? It's called making a Qualified Charitable Distribution. CREATE A DONOR-ADVISED FUND

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is an account where you can deposit assets for donation to charity over time. A sponsoring organization manages the account, and the donor recommends how to invest the assets and where to donate them. The donor can also claim a tax deduction for making contributions to the fund. Learn more.

MAKE AN ENDOWMENT GIFT

When you make an endowment gift, you create a steady stream of annual income to forever support United Way’s critical work. Endowment gifts may be made at any time, or can be created as part of an estate plan.

INCLUDE UNITED WAY IN YOUR WILL

Establishing a will is important for everyone and can be useful regardless of estate size. It can also be a way to support the people and causes important to you. Having a will ensures that your wishes are known.

A bequest is the act of leaving something in your will. When you include United Way of Pickens County in your will, you will become a member of our Heritage Society and will make a lasting gift to help meet the needs of Pickens County in perpetuity.
