Keynote Speaker Jane Robelot

Jane Robelot is a nationally acclaimed network news anchor and correspondent. Jane joined WYFF News 4 in January 2007 as a contributing reporter and anchor of the news magazine Chronicle. In 2017 she was named full-time co-anchor of WYFF News 4 at 4 alongside Gabrielle Komorowski and Chief Meteorologist John Cessarich.

After beginning her career in radio, Jane moved into television with WSPA before moving on to WCAU-TV in Philadelphia and then to CBS News in New York where she worked as a national anchor on both “CBS Morning News” and, later, “CBS This Morning” from 1995-1999.

While at CBS News, Jane covered some of the most important events of that time, including The Oklahoma City Bombing, The Death of Princess Diana, Pope John Paul II’s historic visit to Cuba and the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan.

Jane’s next move was to WGCL-TV in Atlanta where she anchored the 5, 6 and 11pm newscasts. Then, in 2006, Jane and her husband returned to her hometown of Greenville to launch Carolina Zoom Productions, a video production company and studio.

Jane has received many awards and recognitions for her exemplary work in broadcasting. While at CBS News in New York, Jane won two National Emmy Awards for journalistic excellence, and a National Emmy nomination. And in 2009 she won the prestigious Peabody Award, as part of the WYFF News 4 team that produced the special, Chronicle: Paul’s Gift.

Jane graduated Clemson University with a B.A. in Economics and is an avid Tiger fan. She is a very active alumnus, having served on the President’s Advisory Board, and a founding member of Board for the Center for the Visual Arts.

She has also enjoyed a variety of special projects including co-hosting the Florida Citrus Sports parade in Orlando, and moderating a panel discussion for the World Bank at their Washington, DC headquarters. She is a Riley Fellow and member of the Greenville Professional Women’s Forum.

Jane is married to Mario De Carvalho, a former combat cameraman with CBS News, and they have one son, George.
